welcome to SEPA 101 This
is where you will find information on student education
plans, accommodations and strategies.
You can find this information in the canvas as easy as
123 course for Broward County public school
staff. You will find canvas on your clever launchpad.
You may also access it by using the URL on this
slide. Once you have found
the easy as 123 course, click on the tile
and scroll down on the screen to the beginning of the year.
Resource is the SEPA app will be found in Step
five
in the navigation bar. On the left side of the page, you
will see a listing, of course, progress. Click on the
words and you will open your class roster. The
roster will contain a program participation column.
The letters in this column will correspond to eight
possible programs in which the student may be
participating.
Here is the key for the Program participation column.
As you can see, the five means that the student has a
504 plan are a means that the student
is currently part of the m. T S S r T. I
process and has interventions in the academic
area.
We currently have plans and accommodations for all of the
programs listed in canvas. You will
find this information in the discussions,
assignments and quizzes tabs
to access this in canvas, click on
discussions, assignments or quizzes.
Select an item in your tab, such as the
multiplication review we see here. Then you
will click on the edit button at the top right of the screen.
You will then need to scroll to the bottom of the edit page.
You will see a section titled S I I
s I I Is the SEPA section. Users can
see the accommodations in either a student view or a
class view.
As we move into September of 2020 we will
update this feature. The class and student views will
get a new look and teachers will be able to select the
specific items forgiven course
class or student. Yeah, This
will be the way teachers verify that they have provided the
required accommodations
along with the ability to verify the
accommodations that have been provided. Teachers will be able
to add gifted and e l l strategies for particular
students. This will allow for the teacher to verify the
strategies that have been used for students participating in one of these
programs. The final enhancement in September of
2020 is the ability for the teacher to capture notes
directly within the class for students based on the programs the student
participates. This will allow for teachers to
capture what is working, what may not be working or
important information about how the student interacts with the discussion,
assignment or quiz in the classroom.
Currently, the CPAP also allows for you to have access to the
students i e. P Individual education plan or E
P. Education plan for gifted students. Buttons to the
right of the student's name maybe clicked, and it will take you to
the district's ed plan platform. Also, from this
view, the teacher can print out all the students
accommodations.
Once you have clicked on I E. P or E P. You are
taken to the main menu page of Ed Plan. In order to see
the specific student, you will select students search in the green
toolbar. You will then be taken to the search page where you
will enter as much information about the student, a
name, a student number, part of a name. Whatever you
have in order to find the student, then you will select the
view student button.
You are then taken to the students search page In order to enter the
students record, select the students Blue Hyperlink name.
Once you have selected this, you will be taken to the students documents
page here you will be able to find the most recent I e
p or E p for the student.
