with my worries way. I like skies and new sites. Many would you say Wait, I feel just fine. Let's write the time away. It's the right time. Hi, boys and girls. I'm so glad to see you all here today. Before we go any further, I want each and every one of you to give yourselves a pat on the back. Pat on the back. What for? For completing the cursive writing. That's quite an achievement. In fact, Bob, you can pat yourself on the back, too. Really? Well, all right, I can't find my back right now, so I'll just do this. Okay, I guess that will. D'oh! Now I hope you're ready to write with a sharpened pencil and a clean sheet of paper on your desk and that you have your It's the right time folder. Now that you've finished the upper case letters, this would be a good time to review. Let's sit up nice and straight and right along with Bob. First there's the under curve loop stroke. It curves up from the baseline to the top line and then loops back to the midline. Let's write three under curve loops one, two and three God. Which letter? Start with the under curve loop, the way or the sea? If you chose the G, you're right. Next is the under curves slant stroke. It starts at the midline than up to the top line and pulled down to the baseline. Let's write three of these under curve slant under curves, slant and one more. All right. What letter would you choose that starts with the under curves Slant, the M, the K or the the Yes sir, it's the baby. The upper case down curve stroke starts at the top line and curves down to the baseline. Let's write three down curves. One, two and three. What upper case letters starts with the down curve? Is it the D? Yes or the J? It's the Our next stroke is the curve forward. It starts at the top line, then pulls down to the baseline. Let's make three curve forwards strokes one, two and three. Which of these letters start with curved forward? They are, or the wow. It's the age. Here are the upper case over curve and double curved strokes. The over curve starts at the baseline than curves up to the top line. The double curve is the slightly wavy line that starts at the top line and works its way down to the baseline. Write each stroke three times with me. Here is the over curve and again, and one more now the double curve. One, two and three. Great job. Which letters start with the over curve? The I or the J or the well? It's not that. Q. It's the I and J. Now, how about the double curve? Isn't the tea eggs or he got it? It's the T and the F. Thanks, Bob. That's a good warm up exercise before you start writing sentences. Okay, I'm going to write some letters. You tell me what they have in common. Hey, See? And Mm. And Kay? Have you guessed yet? Maybe this will help. Atlanta, California, New Mexico and Kalamazoo. That's right. And Kalamazoo. Thes upper case letters are joined with the next letter When writing a word. Now, how about these letters? Oh, the X and W. I bet you can guess my next question. What do these letters have in common? Ohio, Vermont, Xanadu and Washington? That's right. The letters that follow these upper case letters are not joined. I have another question for you. Do you remember which letters go past the baseline and rest on the line below those letters? Why? Now that you've practiced the entire cursive alphabet, let's have some fun writing about Well, about anything we want. Bob, What are you going to do this summer? This summer, I plan two work four J fish Who trains Z brides. Wow, What a great job, Bob. If you need a new sheet of paper, now is the time to get one. Don't forget to date your paper and put it in your folder. I want you to try and keep up with me. Pencils up. Here we go. Now. This is a long sentence. So let's write this sentence in a group of words this summer, the is T. It's a double curve letter and the H doesn't join the tea. So lift I and into the S summer. Don't lift your pencil until you've completed writing the entire word e and finish at the r. Shift your paper. If you have Thio, the next group of words are I plan to work. I is an over curve letter plan. Make sure you touch the lines that you need to A and n two. The O ends with the Czech stroke and work. Take your time with this word. Check stroke into the O, the r and the K This summer I plan to work. Forge a fish four has the F upper and lower loops into the O and the R. Joe. The J starts with an over curve and also has two loops A and why? And fish is part of the proper name. So the F is an uppercase letter and I s into the h. Don't forget your period This summer I planned tow work for J Fish. Show us the rest, Bob. Train zebras. Now let's write he trains. If you've been practicing, you'll remember how to write the h and join the E trains. Mmm. Are hey, I and and the s Doctor. I cross your T zebras. Lower case Z into the e be check. Stroke are hey and s period. Make sure you dot all your i's and cross all of the teas. Now is a good time to check your spacing between letters and words. Also, check to see how your forward slant looks, every letter must have a forward slant. I also want you to look at each letter and make sure they're touching the correct lines. For example, does your J touch the top line and rest on the line past the baseline? Be sure to circle the letters you feel need the most work. Then you'll know which letters need more practice. That was very, very cool. We're really writing in cursive now. Yes, we are. When you're finished, put your pencil down and shake your hands and fingers around to get the tension out. Okay? We still have some more writing to Dio. Are you ready? How about you, Bob? Here's an oldie but goodie. Uh, crazy brown box jumped over, uh, grassy you quickly. Do you remember when you first wrote this sentence? The papers should be in your folder. I want you to follow Bob. Try and keep up, but don't go so fast that no one can read it. People must be able to read your handwriting. That's called ledge a ble. Your writing must be legible. Okay, Pick up your pencil and let's begin. Remember to have all the tall letters touched the top line keep good spacing between the letters and between words. Also, make sure you're writing maintains that forward slant. Make sure you finish writing the word before lifting your pencil to dot the I cross the T or slant down for the X. I think they're getting the hang of this crazy fox sentence. Miss Lucy, I believe you're right, Bob. I'm sure you've heard the saying practice makes perfect. This sentence is a great example of that. You need to be able to write cursive correctly and with ease later on, when you're finished, circle the words or letters that you think could use improvement teachers. We're going to move on, but make sure they complete this sentence when you get the chance, take out your first attempt and writing this sentence and place it alongside the sentence you just wrote. I bet there's going to be quite a difference. Always remember, your four s is and you're cursive. Writing will continue to improve once again. Before s is our shape. What size? Spacing Band slam. You've come a long way, but remember that cursive writing is a skill you'll use for the rest of your life. So you must keep practicing. Well, I guess that's it for now. Does this mean we're saying goodbye forever? Forever? Oh, I don't think so. As long as you keep writing, Bob and I will always be there for you. So keep your writing skills sharp and we'll see you again. I think it's time to say goodbye to our friends, Bob. Okay, Be sure to keep writing. Bye. Listen, if you ever want to write to me, that would be really, really, really good. Then I could say Thanks for writing. I like it's the right way. It's right. Loop stops and lines. I feel just fine. Let's write the time away. It's the
